Beat is the organisation that campaigns; that challenges the stigma that people with eating disorders face; that gives people the help and support they need. Over 1.6 million people in the UK are directly affected by eating disorders. It is very important not to marginalize people with eating disorders, but on the contrary, to talk about it, read various information on https://advanced-writer.com/ thus raising important issues in society and overcoming the "invisibility" of certain groups.
Eating disorders are a serious mental illness – not a fad, a diet gone wrong or a fashion accessory. That’s why eating disorders must be beaten. And they can – with the right treatment and the right support.
Beat was funded by vinspired between June 2010 and June 2011 to create opportunities for volunteers to make their mark on the My Personal Best project and continue to manage the website post June 2011.
